Each TRAC gallery has an exhibit area where local artists are showcased monthly. And once a year, each highlights the work of students in the two counties. Receptions during each exhibit offer the public an opportunity to meet and talk with the artists. The gallery gift shops feature work from over 100 artists in a variety of media: clay, glass, jewelry, painting, photography, fiber, wood, sculpture, mixed media, and more. All of the work is from TRAC members residing in Mitchell and Yancey counties. By buying locally, you are not only supporting the Arts Council but the community in which they live and work. Both gift shops offer the finest quality, handmade locally art and crafts. They also offer a gift registry and gift certificates for all occasions.
