Performances will be held on April 3rd and 4th, 9:30 and 1:00, at Harris Middle School for Mitchell and Avery County 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana uses the rich and powerful art of Flamenco and its energetic dance to reveal a vision of life full of pride, passion, honor and love. This ancient art form was created in Andalusia, which is the area in the south of Spain (in southern Spain). Flamenco developed through the influences of many different cultures, including the Gypsies from India, the Moors from Africa, the Jews from the Middle East, and the Spanish Christians. All of these peoples shared their cultures and together helped the art of Flamenco come to life.
Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, now in it 25th anniversary year, was founded by Roberto Lorca and Carlota Santana and is a not-for-profit dance company presenting theater performances, community and arts-in-education programs and college and university residencies.
