DESCRIPTION:The 11th Anniversary Exhibition features a room full of blacksmithed and metal worked art by participants in the Fire on the Mountain Festival that is held on Saturday\, April 29\, on lower street in downtown Spruce Pine. The exhibit begins weeks before the Festival and ends the evening of the Festival. \nA Pizza and Beer reception is scheduled for Friday\, April 28 from 5 to 7pm.

DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us as Dr. Daniel Barron takes us on a fast-paced visual journey into the past and consider a variety of real people and cultures that have visited Mitchell County from around 8000 BC to 1540 to 1780 and one fictional character by the name of Jamie Fraser. Using historic and contemporary Google maps of trails and roads\, we’ll see how you can actually walk in the footsteps of the first indigenous people\, the first Europeans\, and many of our Scottish and Scots-Irish ancestors.
