DESCRIPTION:Mitchell County Arts in Education Showcase\nFebruary 6 – March 6 \nKindergarten through 12th grade students from public and private schools in Mitchell County participate annually in this event that celebrates the creative achievements of our students. This showcase is not just a celebration of students\, but also a testament to the hard work each art educator dedicates to the job of nurturing creativity and artistic growth. \nIn lieu of a reception\, Toe River Arts will host free workshops every Saturday during the exhibition for children aged three and older living in Mitchell and Yancey counties. Participants will learn to work with fused glass\, construct bird houses made of clay\, and will be introduced to paste paper and printmaking. Classes are limited to eight students to allow for proper social distancing. While the workshops are free\, participants must be registered ahead of time. Register online at www.toeriverarts.org/artists/education-outreach/workshops.
