Toe River Chamber Ensemble Spring Concert

The first concert of the 2017 season is planned for Tuesday, May 30 at the First Baptist Church on the Town Square in Burnsville. These are always free, but get there early. The pews fill up quickly.

The Toe River Chamber Ensemble is TRAC’s own community orchestra. First organized in 1975, the all-volunteer Ensemble consists of approximately two dozen local musicians of all ages who meet weekly to rehearse. The Ensemble, together for over 30 years, are musicians from Yancey, Mitchell, Avery, Madison, and Buncombe Counties, and from many backgrounds, professions and ages — farmers, librarians, salespeople, potters, ministers, photographers, office and construction workers, teachers and students, doctors and hospital technicians; the list goes on and on. It is an interesting cross-section and a demographic blend created by a shared love of classical music.
