Artist Membership

Toe River Arts works to support the arts by imagining a brighter future where arts and community unite to thrive. For over four decades, we have worked to offer programs, activities, and opportunities that engage and enlighten those who stay for a lifetime or only a day.

• Individual – a single artist
• Collaborative – two or more artists operating under a single business name, creating work together, promoted as one entity
• Gallery – selling art as a primary purpose of business. Generally open a minimum of 6 months per year

BASIC MEMBERSHIP | $75

Individual or Collaborative Group

• Eligible to jury in as an artist in Toe River Arts Gift Shops and E-commerce site
• Artist page on website and listing in 2021 Toe River Arts Mitchell and Yancey County Artist Guide

PROMOTIONAL MEMBERSHIP (BASIC +) | $125

Individual, Collaborative, or Gallery

• Eligible to jury in as an artist in Toe River Arts Gift Shops and E-commerce site
• Artist page on website and listing in 2021 Toe River Arts Mitchell and Yancey County Artist Guide
• 10% discount on E-commerce or Toe River Arts Gift Shop purchases
• Discounts on Toe River Arts Workshops (i.e., BIG INK)
• Free artist business classes through a partnership with Mayland Community College’s Small Business Center
• Facilitation, support, and access to the annual Artist Support and Regional Artist Project Grants
• Participation in bi-annual Studio Tours
• Promotion via radio, print, and online, through sources like WKYK/WTOE, WETS, Greenville and Johnson City television stations, PBS, and the Laurel of Asheville
• Opportunity for year-round promotion – social media, radio, print, feature on wayfinding kiosks, listing on maps, directional signage
• Access to Toe River Arts Studio signage and wayfinding markers
• Discounted rental of the Owen Gallery
