Walt Baker: Moods of the Blue Ridge

The Blue Ridge Mountains are a special place that presents an infinitude of inspiring moments: Muted dusks, the crystalline stillness of winter, breezy high-country afternoons, star-flecked heavens at midnight…the list is unending. There is a quality the Blue Ridge bestows on all who visit or live here that seldom fades. I am currently exploring these themes mainly using color, texture, and value. I use abstraction, gesture, and atmosphere to more closely identify with my experiences in these mountains.
