Hand Quilting: Wall Hangings

Explore the Appalachian tradition of hand quilting using scrap fabrics. Campers will learn classic patterns and hand-sewing techniques while creating a wall hanging to take home and discovering the cultural history behind the craft.

Critters on Parade: Cardboard Mask Making

Experience the history of photography through hands-on exploration. Campers will build pinhole cameras, experiment with multiple camera types, learn how light works through lenses, and develop film using a portable on-site darkroom.

The Living Art Project: Self-Expression through Movement

Machine Sewing & Pattern Making

In this hands-on sewing camp, students learn real-life skills while creating wearable projects. Campers will safely operate sewing machines, make fabric scrunchies, and complete a pair of elastic-waist pajama pants. This beginner-friendly camp builds confidence, creativity, and independence—no prior sewing experience required.

An open, guided sewing lab to practice machine skills or explore additional projects such as hand piecing, embroidery, and working with patterns. A relaxed, supportive space for continued learning and experimentation.

Art Journaling: Book Binding & Black Walnut Ink Drawing
July 27 – 31, 2026

Instructor: Suzanne Teune
Cost: $225
Campers will create handmade paper using plants and recycled materials, bind their pages into personal art journals, and make ink from foraged black walnuts. Students will illustrate their journals using homemade ink and explore creative directions that can continue beyond camp.
